My Story - Sheryl Alstrin

I've been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to be stretched thin with big targets, complexities in the business, as well as complex people issues. Having held numerous leadership roles myself and through my work with over 1,500 leaders across the globe in the last decade, I've learned from the ground up of what it takes to lead and inspire others. I'm energized by the power of human potential and how that can align with business objectives. I know what it takes to excel as a leader and as a human being, and I know exactly how to sustain high performance as a way of life. My greatest joy comes from helping leaders re-connect with their original purpose and ongoing passion.
I've had an exciting and diverse career - from consulting with Fortune 500 company leaders to being a partner in a start-up. I've led large teams in global corporations and small teams in the non-profit sector. I've worked in manufacturing, financial services, and even in the wine industry. Something that my experience has taught me and always humbles me is that people are people and leaders are leaders. Whether in India or Indiana, leaders have the same struggles, same fears, same teetering line towards burn out. It’s my pleasure to work with such leaders in connecting them to the elements of themselves that make high performance a way of life.

A few things you may want to know about me...
My business savvy was showing early when at age 10 I was the top Girl Scout cookies salesperson. I even won a trip to Disneyland.
I’m a dual citizen having lived in Australia for many years and I made a splash in the financial service industry at age 23. I then took on a marketing role at CSR Building Materials, part of the largest organization on the continent.
After starting a family and making my way to Portland, I tapped into my entrepreneurial spirit and launched a start-up with a partner. We created a national marketing company that sold Oregon and Washington wines throughout the United States. We grew to a $3M size with 12 employees.
Ten years ago, I decided to get back to my roots of working with leaders when I started Colorful Intentions. I love doing what I do! Helping people become their best selves is a daily challenge that keeps me fired up and sustaining a high performance level in my own business.
I'm a proud mom of two. My 19-year-old son, Isaac, is a freshman in college and my 16-year-old daughter, Nicole, is a junior in high school. We spend our time taking adventurous vacations, hosting laugh-filled game nights, and paddle-boarding Portland’s waterways.
I've hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim in just one day. In fact, I've done that eight out of the last eleven years! I call it my special place. By this time next year, I will have biked 500 kilometers through Thailand in just five days. If you want to know more . . . click here!
